Rapid Response Skills Initiative (RRSI) TAS
The RRSI aims to assist individuals (including sole traders and partners in a partnership), who have lost work due to retrenchment, downsizing or business closure as a result of COVID-19, to reskill and connect to work.

Individuals (including sole traders) who have lost work due to COVID-19.
Overview
The grant can go towards training, including licences, to improve job prospects, and/or for careers advice to explore possibilities and help choose the best employment and training options.
What are the eligibility criteria?
To be eligible, you must:
- have lost casual, full-time or part-time work in the last 12 months due to retrenchment, downsizing or business closure
- provide written evidence of job loss, redundancy or retrenchment in the form of
- a Centrelink Employment Separation Certificate clearly stating the reason for job loss
- a notification of redundancy or job loss such as a letter/email from your employer which includes contact details for Skills Tasmania to verify your eligibility if necessary
- if you are self-employed - that is, a sole-trader or a partner in a partnership - and can provide written evidence of business closure such as cancelled goods and services (GST) registration or Australian business number (ABN)
- be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident with a Tasmanian residential address, or if not a permanent resident, you must meet the VISA classes requirements.
