Overview

Discounts are available to businesses to help them with the costs of installing a battery.

The discount is larger if installing both a battery and solar together.

Installing a battery can help businesses to:

  • reduce their electricity costs by storing and using more solar energy
  • keep power on during outages if battery backup is enabled.

Check if you can apply

Businesses in NSW may be eligible for this discount if they:

  • are installing a battery between 20 kWh and 30 MWh in size
  • are not a residential building or a data centre
  • have not already used this discount to install a battery 
  • work with an installer offering this discount
  • obtain required planning approval.

To receive the discount on batteries between 20 kWh and 200 kWh in size, the battery must be:

  • tested and pass required fire safety standards
  • installed by a licensed installer.
