Overview
This program provides financial support to business impacted as a result of the reduction in timber supply to certain mills and associated impacts on harvest and haulage operations, following the commencement of a moratorium on harvesting in the GKNP.
Impacted businesses may use grants to cover costs, including:
- the incremental difference between the previous supplier’s price and the new supplier’s price for the purchase of the same or similar hardwood, or alternatives to hardwood, or by-product from a new supplier
- freight costs associated with sourcing the same or similar hardwood, or alternatives to hardwood, or by-product from a new supplier.
Check if you can apply
To be eligible, businesses must:
- have had a contract or agreement for the supply of timber or by-products from a sawmill or contractor that has had a reduction in their wood supply as a consequence of the moratorium
- have hardwood or by-products from a sawmill or contractor affected by the moratorium, as the majority of their business' inputs
- have the ability to source the same or similar hardwood, or alternatives to hardwood, or by-product from a new supplier
- have an active Australian business number (ABN).
