Lenexa Medical is modernising patient care

Lenexa Medical is an Australian company founded in 2017. They specialise in finding innovative solutions to prevent pressure injury.

Ajit Ravindran and Will Yang co-founded Lenexa Medical after identifying a critical gap during a Biodesign innovation course at the University of Melbourne.

Recognising that traditional methods were reactive and often ineffective, they developed a solution that gives real-time information and focuses on prevention.

If a patient stays in one position for too long, it increases the risk of a bedsore. LenexaCARE monitors how a patient is lying in bed and alerts caregivers to reposition them.

LenexaCARE has been trialled in multiple hospitals and aged care facilities across Australia and Singapore. In one trial, the system achieved a 100% success rate in preventing pressure injuries over a six-month period.

To meet growing demand, Lenexa Medical has set up manufacturing in Southeast Asia. They are doing this with scalable production that ensures consistent quality standards.

LenexaCARE has received regulatory approval in Australia, New Zealand and countries around the world. The company has completed clinical trials and is busy building partnerships with healthcare providers and industry stakeholders to support market adoption.

They are also exploring opportunities in the home care market, recognising the need for effective solutions in non-clinical settings.

Through the Industry Growth Program Advisory Service, they gained access to specialists and networks and the grant will help them develop and grow their company locally and globally.
