Overview

Launchpad has two funding rounds:

  1. The Startup Funding Round: backing promising founders and early-stage startups aligned to ARENA’s mandate as they develop their technology, accelerate their business plans and build momentum towards further investment and commercial deployment. This round has up to $15 million available.
  2. The Ecosystem Funding Round: funding ecosystem partners that help businesses aligned to ARENA’s strategic priorities to develop and grow, including accelerators, incubators and other support providers. The Ecosystem Funding Round totals up to $15 million.

To be eligible for the Startup Funding Round, applicants must:

  • hold a valid Australian business number (ABN)
  • be an Australian incorporated entity, which can also include an Australian subsidiary of an international entity that can demonstrate a presence and commitment to operating and commercialising its technology or solution in Australia
  • be a for-profit entity
  • warrant that you are the owner or developer of the related technology, product or solution, and have freedom to operate with regard to any IP or assets involved
  • not be a university, publicly funded research organisation or government entity, noting that university spin-outs and research commercialisation companies are eligible
  • demonstrate that they are undertaking eligible activities.

To be eligible for the Ecosystem Funding round, applicants must:

  • at the time of applying, hold an Australian business number (ABN)
  • be an Australian entity incorporated under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), a Government (State or Federal) Statutory Corporation, an Australian university or research institution, a registered Australian not-for-profit. a charity organisation or an Australian industry association
  • demonstrate that they are undertaking eligible activities.
