Overview

Funding is available to assist farmers to build or upgrade on-farm infrastructure. The infrastructure should help in the management of current and future drought conditions and improve the long-term viability of the farm.

Eligible infrastructure improvements may include:

  • irrigation and feeding system upgrades
  • reticulated water systems using pumps, tanks and troughs for livestock
  • grain and fodder storage
  • items to construct a new or upgrade an existing Stock Containment Area – such as fencing, gates, troughs, piping, tanks and livestock feeders

Check if you can apply

To be eligible, you must:

  • own, share or lease a farm business located in an eligible Local Government Area
  • have an Australian business number (ABN) and have that ABN at the time of the program announcement (30 September 2024)
  • have a right or interest in the land for the purpose of primary production
  • derive more than 50% of gross income from the farm business in an average year, OR generate more than $75,000 gross income from the primary production business in an average year.
