Overview

The Thailand-Australia Venture Exchange Program (VEP) is a 12-week program, connecting Thai and Australian agrifood startups and SMEs with research, industry and market opportunities across both countries.

The VEP provides selected organisations opportunities to:

  • improve cross-border collaboration and commercialisation skills
  • access complementary research capabilities
  • explore market readiness in the target country (i.e. Australia into Thailand and vice versa).

Participants will engage in:

  • capability building sessions to generate leading future agrifood knowledge that drives new marketing insights, commercial projects and industry growth
  • 2 in-person immersion weeks, held in Australia and Thailand, along with premium industry events and networking opportunities
  • a bilateral program with fellow entrepreneurs who share similar focus areas, promoting knowledge exchange and collaborative learning.

3 rounds of 7 competitively selected start-ups and SMEs will participate in a 12-week program. The first round will be delivered in 2026, with rounds 2 and 3 following in 2027.

Participating organisations are eligible for a travel allowance to support the costs of domestic and international travel associated with participating in the program.

There is no charge for organisations to apply for the VEP.
