The Project has a projected capital expenditure of $3.5 billion and would create about 250 construction jobs and 375 ongoing jobs per annum. |

The project would link to Singapore’s electricity grid and have the potential to significantly expand the renewable energy and battery storage industries in Australia. Phase 2 of Ichthys LNG expands on the infrastructure developed in Phase 1 to support a LNG production chain spanning the Browse Basin off the Western Australia coastline and Bladin Point in the Northern Territory. The production chain includes an offshore central processing facility and a floating production, storage and offtake facility connected to an onshore processing plant through a 890km-long gas export pipeline. Phase 2 of the Project involves modifications to these facilities and the installation of subsea infrastructure to support the drilling of additional wells. At full capacity, the Project is expected to produce 8.9 million tonnes of LNG per annum. Phase 2 of the Project has a projected capital expenditure of $14.2 billion, and, combined with phase one, is supporting about 1,800 jobs per year over the project’s 40-year life. |
