  • Victorian Government's Business Support Package - The Victorian Government has announced a $534 million Business Support Package that includes cash grants for struggling businesses, mental health support for business owners, relief for tourism operators who can no longer welcome Melbourne-based visitors for holidays and tailored and targeted advice for businesses to adapt, stay afloat and then bounce back on the other side.   • Restrictions on Victorian services - Metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire in the state of Victoria returned to Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions from 11.59pm on Wednesday 8 July 2020. Learn more about restrictions on services.
  • International Freight Assistance Mechanism - the Australian Government committed an additional $241.9 million to continue the International Freight Assistance Mechanism (IFAM), helping keep international freight routes and flights operating until the end of the year.   • New chatbot -  We've launched a new chatbot service to support the high number of businesses enquiring about government measures in response to the coronavirus. You can find the chatbot in the bottom right hand corner across all of our coronavirus related pages. Learn more about our chatbot.
  • Instant asset write-off - The increased instant asset write-off has been extended to 31 December 2020. This means that eligible businesses can continue to invest in assets that cost less than $150,000 each. Learn more about about the increased instant asset write-off.
  • Free financial counselling for small regional businesses - The Australian Government has committed more than $4.7 million to provide small regional businesses affected by COVID-19 with access to free and confidential financial counselling.
