DiSC: The realities of operational leadership
Leading people on the factory floor is different to leading in an office.
Supervisors, leading hands and team leaders are expected to deliver results every day – under tight deadlines, production pressure, safety demands and shifting workforce challenges. When communication breaks down, or personality styles clash, misunderstandings and conflict can quickly escalate.
This practical, hands-on DiSC workshop is designed specifically for middle leaders in blue-collar, production-focused environments. It focuses on real operational leadership scenarios – with tools and strategies participants can use immediately with their crews.
In this interaction session, participants will learn how to:
- understand their leadership style (especially under pressure)
- recognise how different personality types respond to direction, feedback and change
- improve communication to drive clarity, safety and accountability
- motivate different personalities on the floor (what works – and what doesn’t)
- manage conflict and difficult conversations using practical frameworks (including the H.E.A.T model)
- apply DiSC in real-time through group discussion and scenario role plays.
This workshop avoids corporate jargon and “soft” theory, and instead delivers plain-language, practical leadership tools tailored to manufacturing and operational workplaces.
