According to the National Centre for Vocational Education Research, women in male-dominated trade occupations make up only around 8% of all apprentices. However, recent data also reveals nearly 80% more women are undertaking an apprenticeship in a male-dominated trade now than 5 years ago.

With this progress in mind, there has never been a better time to build on this momentum and foster inclusive workplaces that benefit all Australians, and the bottom lines of business.

Apprenticeship Support Australia, together with industry champions Empowered Women in Trades (EWIT) and Tradeswomen Australia, will host an insightful webinar educating employers on attracting and retaining women in male-dominated trade roles.

Topic covered include:

  • the importance of diversity in the workplace
  • common barriers women face in entering and thriving in male-dominated trades
  • real-life success stories
  • employer-focused tools and resources.

This event will include a Q&A session, encouraging participants to share their experiences and challenges, and provide expert advice and solutions.

This a must-attend webinar to hear from leaders in their fields about workplace diversity and how it improves employment and business outcomes, while gaining industry contacts and connections.
