Preparing your business for bird flu: Information webinar

Avian influenza (bird flu) is a contagious, viral disease affecting wild, commercial and domesticated bird species and other animals all over the world.

A more serious strain of bird flu, H5, is causing severe disease and death in wild and domesticated birds and animals. While Tasmania is currently free of H5 bird flu, we are anticipating its arrival soon and you need to prepare your business now.

In this webinar, you will hear from a representative from the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania who will provide an overview of bird flu and what to expect when an outbreak occurs.

You will also hear from experienced business advisor Stephen Hansen from Rural Business Tasmania, who delivers the Tasmanian Government’s Tasmanian Business Advice Service. Stephen will cover how to prepare your business for bird flu by talking you through the business preparedness tools and resources available from Business Tasmania. He will also talk about the free business advice services you can access to help you with your business preparedness planning.
