Overview

This program aims to assist Tasmanian primary producers to access carbon farming advice to help them enter the market.

Rebates are available to get advice from approved advisers about undertaking carbon farming projects.

Check if you can apply

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • be a property owner, share farmer or lessee based in Tasmania
  • operate a primary production business as a sole trader, partnership, trust or private company operating and located in Tasmania
  • have not received and paid for eligible services before applying and receiving a notice of eligibility from the Department
  • have not previously received advice relating to a substantially similar project activity or location.

Applicants also must be able to meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • earn more than 50% of their gross income from primary production activities under normal seasonal circumstances
  • commenced operating the primary production business between 1 July 2018 and 30 June 2021, and will derive more than 50% of their gross income from primary production business within 3 years of the application.

Advice must come from an approved adviser under the program.
