Funding for QLD small business employers to help them retain employees

Overview

The Small Business Support Pool is available to employers who have been approved for a Back to Work Incentive Payment and need assistance to support the continued employment of their Back to Work eligible employee.

The funding may be used for activities to support and retain an employee, including:

Training

• professional development and upskilling to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards
• personal development (e.g. Microsoft suite, customer skills service)
• industry specific or job skills training/coaching
• retraining to assist with diversification.

Digital solutions

• adding ecommerce capabilities to existing website
• specialised software, including subscription costs.

Workplace fit out

• adjustment to buildings to improve accessibility
• specialised furniture to improve accessibility or ability to work independently
• machinery/vehicle alterations (e.g. hydraulic lifts).

Check if you can apply

To be eligible, applicants must:

• have an approved Back to Work application for an employee who commenced employment from 1 July 2021 and is currently employed with the business
• be a small business that employs less than 20 people
• demonstrate how the grant money will support them to retain their employee
• provide a quote to the value of at least $2000.
