Funding for workforce training and development initiatives in the Northern Territory

Overview

The program has 3 streams:

• Workforce development – aimed to increase commencement and completion of apprenticeships, pre-apprenticeships and higher apprenticeships.
• Apprenticeships and traineeships – aimed to increase workforce participation through workforce development initiatives leading to employment.
• Industry workforce strategies – aimed to increase collaborative and innovative workforce development strategies to meet sector demands, improve productivity and reduce skilling gaps.

Funding is available for pre-apprenticeship training programs, on the job training combined with formal study to gain recognised qualifications and other related business and industry training.

Check if you can apply

Applicants must:

• have a significant permanent presence in the NT
• employ NT residents
• be solvent.

Applicants must also demonstrate:

• 70% employment outcomes for workforce development projects
• innovative approaches to workforce development
• inclusion of nationally recognised training components
• evidence that the proposal is project ready
• evidence of market testing and readiness
• project viability, risk management and ability to manage and deliver.

Registered training organisations and schools can partner with a lead organisation.
