SA commercial fisheries and aquaculture licence holders impacted by the algal bloom.
Overview
One-off grants are available to support eligible commercial fisheries and aquaculture licence holders that:
- have been unable to catch and/or harvest their typical volume of marine species
- have been unable to operate due to extended harvest closures implemented by PIRSA.
Funding of up to $100,000 will be paid under a tiered scheme as follows:
- Tier 1: an immediate payment of $25,000, subject to demonstrating the closure of a licence holder's harvest area, or a decline in catch or harvest.
- Tier 2: an additional amount of up to $75,000 depending on turnover, and subject to demonstrating a decline in business turnover.
Check if you can apply
To be eligible, businesses must:
- be a legal entity established in Australia
- be a SA commercial fisheries or aquaculture licence holder
- have an active Australian business number (ABN) as at 1 January 2025
- be registered for goods and services tax (GST) as of 29 July 2025
- have an Australia-wide grouped payroll not greater than $10 million in 2024-25
- demonstrate at least 75% of business turnover directly from commercial activities under the commercial fisheries or aquaculture licence(s).
