Interest-free loans for WA residential builders

Overview

Interest-free loans are available to residential builders based in Western Australia to help them address any cash flow problems which may be impeding their ability to complete unfinished homes that have been under construction since 1 July 2022 or earlier.

Loans will be paid in instalments and be repayable within a 5-year term.

Builders who meet all the following eligibility criteria are encouraged to register their interest:

• have at least one unfinished Class 1a residential building in WA, that commenced construction prior to 1 July 2022, and has not reached practical completion by 18 August 2024
• be a solvent, WA-based residential building business that has been continually operating in WA since 1 July 2020
• be a WA registered building contractor with a valid Australian business number (ABN) and registered for goods and services tax (GST) without interruption since 1 July 2020
• hold a valid Australian business number (ABN) and goods and services tax (GST) registration without interruption since 1 July 2020.
