The Food Agility CRC is helping Australia’s agriculture sector to adopt digital technologies to improve efficiency, profitability and sustainability.

One CRC research project is helping oyster farmers to reduce harvest closures while still maintaining strict food safety standards through the use of sensor technologies that monitor water quality and safety in real time. The project involves oyster growers in 13 estuaries in New South Wales collaborating with microbiology researchers from University of Technology Sydney, technology partner The Yield, the NSW Department of Primary Industries and the Food Agility CRC.

“It’s an industry led combination of partners that bring the technology smarts, the research smarts, all those elements together beautifully”.
— Dr Mike Briers AO, CEO, Food Agility
