Funding for projects to promote electronic identification (eID) devices

Overview

PIRSA is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from regionally-based South Australian Producer Groups to provide a supporting learning environment for sheep and farmed goat producers, to enhance capabilities and efficient use of eID.

Producers will learn from experts and each other about how eID technologies and the collected data can assist with and improve livestock productivity, efficiency and profitability in their businesses.

Each eID Producer Group must appoint a facilitator for the group. The facilitator will be responsible for co-ordinating and facilitating Producer Group activities, reporting progress and outcomes to PIRSA and ensuring all data collection is undertaken.

Regionally-based South Australian sheep and goat producer groups can apply. Individual producers can contact PIRSA to enquire about establishing or joining an existing group.

Activities eligible for funding include:

• workshops to upskill primary producers in eID and data-based decision making
• costs associated with an expert speaker presenting to the producer group
• associated travel costs for the producer group to conduct a field study
• associated travel costs of the producer group facilitator
• catering and venue hire for producer group events
• creation of resources or printing of resources to be delivered to producer groups
• developing an individual producer eID plan (template to be provided by PIRSA)
• cost of facilitator undertaking delivery of the producer groups
• cost of facilitator time to undertake reporting to PIRSA.
