- ethical, legal and social issues related to genomics in health care
Overview
The Genomics Health Futures Mission is the centrepiece of the Australian Government's National Health and Medical Industry Growth Plan.
This grant opportunity is for 2 grant streams:
- projects grants
- ethical, legal and social issues research grants
The objectives of this grant opportunity are to:
- fund innovative and creative genomics research projects
- support collaboration of multidisciplinary research into genomics that prioritises health system and commercial needs
Projects must be completed by 30 June 2022.
Projects Grant stream
This stream provides funds to support research projects in 2 areas:
- cancers (including lung cancer and mesothelioma) and diseases with high mortality and low survivability rate
- paediatric acute care genomic research for critically ill children
The total funding available for this stream is $30 million over 3 years. We will award grants for up to 100% of eligible costs. You can apply for funding between $500,000 and $5 million.
Ethical, Legal and Social Issues Research Grant stream
The total funding available for ethical, legal and social issues related to genomics in health care projects is $3.7 million over 3 years. The grant amount will be up to 100% of eligible project costs. You can apply for funding between $100,000 and $500,000.
