Overview

This Spaceport Establishment Support Grant aims to accelerate the establishment of space launch facilities in WA. A spaceport is a site equipped for launching, receiving, testing, or maintaining spacecraft and rockets.

Grant funding may be spent on expenses related to:

  • site assessments (environmental impact, heritage, bushfire risk, hydrology, launch and re-entry trajectory analysis, emissions etc)
  • business case development (market analysis, technical and financial feasibility, infrastructure requirements, risk assessments etc).

Check if you can apply

To be eligible, businesses must:

  • have or be eligible to register for Australian business number (ABN)
  • be a legal entity
  • have been a registered business for at least 3 years 
  • be operating in the space industry
  • be solvent
  • intend to establish a spaceport in WA, with site works to commence before 31 December 2029
  • contribute at least 50% of the project funding costs.
