Overview

The Natural Disaster Loan provides low interest loans to small businesses directly affected by a declared natural disaster.

The loan is intended to help small businesses:

  • return to their normal level of trading or until the next major income is received within 12 months from the date of disaster
  • replace and repair damage caused and associated improvements not covered by insurance

Loans of up to $130,000, over a period of 10 years are available.

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible, you must:

  • earn the majority of your gross income from the business
  • operate a business located within a LGA that has been declared a natural disaster and intend to re-establish the business within the same LGA
  • be in working occupation of the business
  • be in urgent and genuine need of financial assistance
  • demonstrate the long-term viability of your business and the ability to repay the loan
  • provide security for the loan
  • lodge an application within six months of the date of the declared natural disaster
