Overview
Screen Australia provides funding and resources to support the development, production and marketing of Australian screen content, as well as for the development of Australian talent and screen production businesses.
Different funding programs are offered under the following streams:
- feature films
- television and online
- documentaries
- shorts
- indigenous
- industry development
- producer offset
- co-production program
A number of the programs are open to first time or early-career filmmakers.
The funding available and deadlines to apply vary across the programs offered.
Check if you can apply
An individual applicant must:
- be an Australian citizen
- be an Australian resident who has lived in Australia, continuously or intermittently, for more than one half of the year immediately preceding their application
- not be the employee of a broadcaster or commissioning platform
- not be enrolled full-time in a film, television or interactive digital media course
- not be acting in the capacity of a trustee of a trust
An applicant that is a company must:
- be incorporated and carrying on business in Australia, and have its central management and control in Australia
- not be a broadcaster
- not be a holding company or subsidiary of a broadcaster
- not be acting in the capacity of a trustee for a trust
