Overview

Funding is available for businesses reliant on the native timber industry to help with expenses associated with closing their businesses. Financial assistance is provided in a 2-stage application process:

  • Stage 1 – Business closure schedule: eligible businesses may apply for up to $5,000 to seek professional support in the decision to close and develop a business closure schedule.
  • Stage 2 – Closure activities: businesses that have successfully applied for stage 1 can then access up to a further $45,000 to undertake specific activities in their business closure schedule.

Check if you can apply

To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • be a WA business operating within the native forestry industry for at least 3 years prior to and at the time of the announcement on 8 September 2021
  • have a valid and active Australian business number (ABN) or Australian company number (ACN)
  • not have any pending litigations or insolvency processes underway
  • be able to demonstrate at least 50% reliance on the native timber industry over at least one financial year between 2019-2020 to 2021-2022
  • be registered for goods and services tax (GST) with a minimum turnover of $75,000
  • not have received funding through any other Native Forest Transition grant program.
