Advanced Diesel Injection is one of Cairns’ leading suppliers of diesel injection systems. Owner Neil Greening is well known for putting customers first and his ability to find a solution – be it through designing and engineering speciality parts or sourcing hard-to-find components.

In recent years, growth of the business, coupled with their strong desire to meet and exceed the expectations of customers, saw Neil and his small team come under increasing pressure to match limited resources with growing demand.

Sales were good, the business was making money, but systems, processes and the workforce structure were not keeping up. Neil was reaching breaking point and knew something had to change, so he reached out for assistance from the Entrepreneurs’ Programme Growth Services.

Working with Growth Facilitator Jayne Gray, Advanced Diesel Injections built a roadmap that focused on:

• developing a whole-of-business roadmap, focused on sustainability
• aligning workforce planning with the business’ present and future needs
• digital solutions to streamline workflow and enable the firm to capture critical performance data
• lean principles and process mapping.

With a $20,000 Growth Grant, Neil and his team implemented the recommendations of their roadmap, creating a more efficient business, tripling their profit and employing an additional team member, all in less than 12 months.
