With both State and Federal Certification, Australian Expedition Vehicles has sought to expand their modifications testing capability to meet a gap in the market and increase their footprint.

Australian Expedition Vehicles’ Managing Director wanted to push the boundaries in advanced engineering, picking up on a market opportunity for vehicle modification certification to grow from predominantly consulting to diversified vehicle manufacturing and testing. However, this meant addressing capital investment, skills and systems barriers.

Through the Entrepreneurs’ Programme Growth Services, Australian Expedition Vehicles have been supported to address efficiency barriers and maximise market opportunities, including defence and export. A research programme is also underway, along with a graduate acquisition, to embed and apply new technology.

With a $20,000 Growth Grant, Australian Expedition Vehicles have achieved 3rd party ISO9001 certification, improved their performance measurement systems and embarked on strategic marketing and a research and development focus.

The business has also accessed 2 new export markets in the UK and ME, increased their revenue by 15% and increased staff by 25%.
