Overview

Rebates are available to eligible QLD individuals and businesses who have purchased a new ZEV. As at the introduction of this scheme, a ZEV refers to a full battery electric vehicle (BEV) only.

The scheme is limited to:

  • one rebate per individual
  • up to 5 rebates per QLD business per financial year.

Internal combustion engine (ICE) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) are ineligible as they are not ZEVs.

Check if you can apply

To be eligible for a rebate, you must have purchased an eligible ZEV, and be a:

  • QLD resident who holds a valid QLD driver license (international and interstate driver licences will not be accepted), or another form of evidence to prove residency
  • QLD business.

Eligible ZEVs must:

  • be a new vehicle, being registered for the first time
  • have a dutiable value up to $58,000 (including GST) and purchased between 16 March 2022 and 20 April 2023
  • have a dutiable value up to $68,000 (including GST) and purchased on or after 21 April 2023
  • be purchased in QLD, from a relevant licensed motor vehicle dealer, and registered with the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
