Areas of activity that will be considered for funding include:

  • Prevention interventions: Implementing innovative and improved risk controls to prevent or minimise occupational illness and disease.
  • Risk management: Improving risk management in the workplace by applying known best practice approach.
  • Training and education: Developing training materials, train or educate workplaces on the prevention of occupational disease or illness; educating employers, workers and medical practitioners on the protection and promotion of worker health.
  • Knowledge and insights: Undertaking research or gathering data to improve knowledge of current or emerging occupational illnesses and diseases.
  • Support: Providing services and education to high risk industries or communities with a higher population of people impacted by occupational disease and illness.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • be from an organisation registered for goods and services tax (GST) and an Australian business number (ABN)
  • align the funding principles
  • be undertaking a project that impacts the health safety and wellbeing of Victorian workers
  • demonstrate the necessary expertise, resources and capacity to undertake, manage and evaluate the proposed initiative
  • be financially capable to deliver the proposed initiative.
